Trial & Pinafore 2009

The photo below is from Hull Savoyards production of H.M.S. Pinafore or The Lass that Loved a Sailor in June 2009. This was the centerpiece of the Society's 75th Anniversary Celebration, commemorating our long and vibrant tradition of Gilbert and Sullivan. There was no better way to celebrate than with Pinafore, one of the Gilbert & Sullivans most successful collaborations. In addition to Pinafore, Giilbert and Sullivan's only one act collaboration, Trial by Jury was also presented as part of a special double bill. The pairing of Trial and Pinafore is a historically successful one and proved to be so for the Society's 68th annual production.
Together, Trial by Jury and H.M.S. Pinafore demonstrated the lyric and musical genius of both Gilbert and Sullivan and created an unforgettable night of theatre.

3rd September 2009 - rehearsals commence for the new 2009/2010 Savoyard season which promises to be as busy and interesting as usual. The following concerts are scheduled for 2009;
11/10/09 - The Endsleigh Centre, 481 Beverley Road, Hull. HU6 7LJl
24/10/09 - Bricknell Avenue Methodist Church, 277 Bricknell Avenue, Hull.HU5 4TJ
12/11/09 - Holy Cross, 3 Carrington Avenue, Cottingham. HU16 4DU
28/11/09 - Derringham Bank Methodist Church, Willerby Road, Hull. HU5 6DT
4/12/09 - The Endsliegh Centre, 481 Beverley Road, Hull. HU6 7LJ
The annual production in June 2010 is to be Ruddigore or The Witches Curse and reheasrals for this commence January 2010. Auditions will be held at Bricknell Avenue Methodist Church on Sunday 8/11/2009.

HMS Pinafore & Trial by Jury

Hull Savoyards presented a traditional joint production of HMS Pinafore and Trial by Jury from 17th to 20th June 2009. Together these demonstrated the lyric and musical genius of both Gilbert and Sullivan and created an unforgettable night of theatre with lovely costumes and scenery. Congratulations to all involved with this successful production.
