THE SORCERER

The society is now commencing rehearsals for Gilbert and Sullivan’s The Sorcerer. The story of this opera centres on John Wellington Wells, a dealer in magic and spells, whose love potions work havoc upon all who drink them, causing everyone to fall madly in love with the wrong partner. The results, in the opera, as can well be imagined, are truly Gilbertian.
The Society is constantly in search of new members and there are still opportunities to join the chorus for what will be an enjoyable experience in participating in a wonderful musical and colourful production. We meet on Thursday evenings and new members are assured of a very warm welcome. The ability to read music is not essential and all ages are welcome.

Hull Savoyards promote the works of Gilbert and Sullivan which provides wonderful music and a considerably amount of pleasure and fun for all those involved. We feel it is important to keep live musical theatre active in the community.
Whatever your age whether you are experienced or inexperienced, if you are interested and would like to participate either in a principal role, in the chorus, assist backstage or in the preparations for a production please contact the Secretary on 01482 876918 or email - This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. The next production from Hull Savoyards is to be Gilbert and Sullivan’s ‘The Sorcerer’ in June 2012 and auditions are scheduled for Sunday 27/11/2011 with rehearsals commencing in January 2012.
