It is with deep sadness to inform all Hull Savoyard supporters that  the Society’s  President and Honorary Life Member Jean Ward-Skerrow passed away on Tuesday afternoon following a short illness.

Jean sang with many of the great singers and orchestras of the day but her name will truly be remembered with Hull Savoyards where she  sung the majority of the female leads in the G&S repertoire. She had a rich, strong soprano voice which was admired but her off stage personality  will be equally remembered. Jean's dedication to Hull Savoyards has been unsurpassable, she joined the Society in 1957 and has been a member and supporter ever since.

I feel it is unlikely to see anyone again with this loyalty, commitment and dedication to one Society. She has seen the Society go through good and bad times but has never wavered in her support and desire for the Society to be successful. She was a lady generous of spirit and kind as a person who was always prepared to help any member and to carry out any task she was asked to do for the Society.

A time of sadness – Eternal Rest.
