"Robin Hood: or, The merry Men and the Maid" - A new Comic Operetta by ZV and SR Sellens.

Hull Savoyards’ Amateur Operatic Society are thrilled to unveil our latest show - "Robin Hood: or, the Merry Men and the Maid." This new adaptation of the classic tale combines the heroics of Robin Hood with the wit of Gilbert and Sullivan. Written by two members of the society, this is a world premiere production!

The show opens in Locksley Village where we find Maid Marian who has become secretly engaged to Robin Hood, the notorious outlaw. Unbeknownst to Marian (her father) has arranged her marriage to the villainous Sir Guy of Gisbourne. On being coerced to consent to this Marian and Robin plot to elope from the famous golden arrow contest in disguise, but Robin is betrayed and all is lost… or is it?

With all your favourite characters from the legend (and even some morris dancing), this show is a guaranteed delight for both seasoned theatregoers and newcomers alike.

Friday 1^st December 2023, at 7:30 PM (Bricknell Avenue Methodist Church).

Saturday, 2^nd December 2023, at 2:30 PM and 7:30 PM (Cottingham Civic Hall).

Saturday 9^th December 2023, at 7:30 PM (Walkington Village Hall).
